International Moth UK Nationals at WPNSA

The 2026 Wetsuit Outlet International Moth UK Nationals came to a spectacular close at the Weymouth & Portland National Sailing Academy, with four days of world-class foiling, close competition and a championship decided by just a single point. As proud title sponsors, it was a privilege to support an event that showcased everything that's exciting about modern dinghy racing.

After a mixed start to the week, Sunday delivered the conditions every Moth sailor dreams of. A warm north easterly breeze of 21 knots, gusting to 25, combined with the flat water inside Portland Harbour to create a breathtaking day's racing, with boats flying across the course at incredible speeds.

The battle for the National Championship couldn't have been closer. Henry Wetherell and Kyle Stoneham began the day separated by just a single point, with the lead changing hands as the racing unfolded. Stoneham claimed the opening two races before an equipment issue opened the door for Wetherell, who won the final two races to successfully defend his title by the narrowest of margins.

The front of the fleet wasn't the only story. Throughout the championship there were standout performances across the fleet, from Hattie Rogers retaining the women's title to newcomers making an immediate impact and experienced sailors proving that foiling is accessible to more people than ever. The racing was competitive from first place to last, with close battles throughout every race.

Away from the racecourse, the event captured what makes the Moth class so special. Sailors came together for a social evening overlooking Chesil Beach, shared knowledge in the boat park and encouraged those looking to get into foiling. That welcoming atmosphere, combined with spectacular racing, left competitors heading home inspired for the rest of the season.
